Itineraries
Cruising the
Greek Islands
Cruising grounds
-The Saronic Gulf. (Close to Athens and Hydra) laid back and easily
accessible.
-The Cyklades (Close to Myconos, Sandorini) brown white and blue,
intense light, can be windy
-The Dodekanisa (Close to Rhodes, and Kos) picturesque architecture,
not too rough
-The Ionian (Close to Corfu and Lefkada) Green and gentle, light
winds
You can decide where
to board the yacht, depending on the cruising grounds you pick.
A combination of different areas and islands is also possible.
We can tailor your vacation to your individual needs and desires.
Below we have outlined
some different scenarios for your holiday adventure depending
on what your personal preferences are. These are only suggestions
and we can change them at any time depending on our mood and the
mood of the weather.
Option No. 1
Most charter guests are quite happy sailing three to four hours
a day maximum. The rest of the day is usually spent swimming and
sightseeing or having a massage and relaxing. If this is you,
then we would pick a scenario where the islands are close together.
Option No. 2
Some charter guests are quite happy to include one or two days
of longer sailing, maybe six to eight hours. In that case we can
visit some islands further away, like the Cyclades group, and
spend our time in that area before returning to our base. This
is a great option if you want the convenience of starting you're
holiday from Athens, thus avoiding to have to catch a connecting
flight to a Greek island.
Option No. 3
Some charter guests preferred to split their holiday time in Greece
and spend part of it on a yacht and the other part in a hotel
on an island. They may for instance charter for seven days and
then spend three days on Mykonos or Santorini
In that case we sail a one-way trip to Mykonos, or any other island,
and drop you off there. Please note that due to the logistics
involved in this scenario a one-way fee off the €300 applies.
Option No. 4
Some charter guests prefer to have long sails and don't care too
much about swimming and sightseeing. In that case we can criss-cross
the Aegean for hours on end. We can stop on deserted anchorages
overnight or party hard at the island's main harbors.
Starting points
You can start your holiday from different locations.
Athens is close to the cruising grounds of the Saronic golf and
the to Cycladic islands off Kea, Kithnos, Serifos and Sifnos.
Thus we can experience the variety of both of these two beautiful
cruising grounds if we wish. On the other hand if we want to take
it easy we just sail along the lovely Saronic Gulf. The great
convenience of starting from Athens is that you do not have to
catch another connecting flight before you can start your holyday..
Not everybody wants
to start their charter holiday from Athens
If you would prefer to experience the island group called the
Dodekanisa then it is best to start from Kos Island. The distance
we would have to cover to get to this island group from Athens
is quite long so it is more convenient to fly to Kos. From here
the lovely islands off Leros, Kalimnos, Patmos, Simi and Rodos
as well as numerous smaller islands with their lovely bays are
at our fingertips.
Maybe you would love
to exploit the gentler Ionian Islands. Again it is quite a long
trip to get there from Athens, as it includes the passing of the
Isthmus Canal in Corinth. It is far more advisable for you to
arrive on Corfu Island or Lefkada Island. From there we can then
explore the gentle Ionian Sea together visiting Ithaca, the home
port of the Great Odysseus, as well as the lovely green island
of Kefalonia with its picturesque anchorages. Further north there
is Paxus Island. Towards the mainland of this archipelago they
are numerous smaller islands also worth exploring.
Probably the most famous
Greek islands are Mykonos and Santorini. These belong to an island
group called the Cycladic islands. They can be reached from Athens
via a long sail of about 10 hours but the trip may prove quite
a challenge especially on the way back. This is it due to the
local weather patterns in the summer. So if you are not a very
keen sailor we suggest you meet us on the island of Siros. It
is located at the centre of the Cyclades and is the gateway to
the surrounding islands. Mykonos, Renia (the island on which Aphrodite
was born), Delos (the island on which Apollo, her twin brother
was born), Patmos, Naxos and numerous other islands are well within
our cruising grounds here.
We hope that we have made it a little easier for you to get an
idea of all the choices you have when you visit this beautiful
holiday paradise. Please feel free to contact us if you have any
more questions.
